Mike Duffy’s career in community development finance began in graduate school in 2000 with an internship at Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing. After 2 years there, Mike returned home to St. Louis and worked three years at St. Louis Equity Fund, leaving his position as Director of Development in 2005 to accept a Finance Manager position with McCormack Baron Salazar, Inc. Mike joins Twain in 2019 leaving his position as Chief Investment Officer of MBS after a rewarding career there closing over $2.4 billion in real estate development.
Mike has strong experience in assessing and managing risk, working with outside investors and lenders and in structuring complex real estate investments combined with market-rate debt, Federal, state and local development incentives, and HUD housing programs.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from St. Louis University and master’s degrees in both City Planning and Public Policy from The Ohio State University. He was a participant in FOCUS St. Louis’ 2004-2005 Leadership St. Louis program.
