Mike Duffy’s career in community development finance began in graduate school in 2000 with an internship at Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing. After two years there, Mike returned home to St. Louis and worked three years at St. Louis Equity Fund, leaving his position as Director of Development in 2005 to accept a Finance Manager position with McCormack Baron Salazar, Inc. Mike left his position as Chief Investment Officer after a rewarding 14-year career at MBS in 2019, closing over $2.4 billion in real estate development.
Mike has strong experience in assessing and managing risk, working with outside investors and lenders and in structuring complex real estate investments combined with market-rate debt, Federal, state and local development incentives, and HUD housing programs.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from St. Louis University and master’s degrees in both City Planning and Public Policy from The Ohio State University. He was a participant in FOCUS St. Louis’ 2004-2005 Leadership St. Louis program.
